When you are touring around the wine country this month you will notice the burst of green in the vineyards. After the dormant winter months the vines have started their new growth and will soon develop flowers and grape clusters. Harvest is still months away but the vine development now is critical to producing quality fruit that will, in a year or two, be part if a celebrated bottle of wine.  It is an interesting time to visit the wineries and take a vineyard tour and see the developing grapes. Claiborne & Churchill, Edna Valley Vineyards, Salisbury and Chamisal are located adjacent to accessible vineyards.
