For those of us that spend time in and around the ocean here in Pismo Beach we know that the water temp barely touches 60 degrees in the late summer. It then starts a customary drop into the late Spring, where the water temp can drift below 50 degrees. So what we are experiencing currently is truly unusual and a definite gift.

This was part of  today's Ocean Surf Report:

SEAWATER TEMPERATURES:  A northerly flowing current continues to bring abnormally warm   water from the Southern California Bight to the San Luis Obispo  County coastline.    Intake seawater temperatures will range between 63 and 65  degrees next Monday.

The "intake" referred to is Diablo Canyon's. The weather report that we use on our website is from the Diablo Canyon Power Plant -   Ocean/Surf Report.
