Featuring Five Venues with 25 Bands Playing Dixieland, New Orleans, Zydeco, Early Jazz, Big Band and Swing Music

The Pismo Jazz Jubilee will be celebrating the music and excitement of New Orleans on the California Coast during the last weekend of October.  The Jubilee, now in its 41st year, is a high energy event, featuring hot swingin’ jazz and more in multiple venues in the heart of the California Central Coast.  This premier West Coast jazz event presents many of the most sought-after traditional jazz bands from across the nation playing Dixieland, New Orleans, Zydeco, swing, early Jazz and big band music.  This weekend long party also features great food, California wines, libations and large wooden dance floors in every venue.  The Festival attracts music fans from throughout the California Central Coast, the state of California and around the USA - whether they attend for a day or the entire weekend.

2017 headliners include dance favorites the Cajun violinist Tom Rigney and Flambeau from San Francisco, the High Street Party Band from Idaho and Cornet Chop Suey from St. Louis.  Joining them will be nationally known veterans like the Midiri Brothers from New Jersey, Uptown Lowdown from Seattle and the High Sierra Jazz Band from Three Rivers, CA.  Many young performers will be featured as well including the JC Jazz Krewe, The Crescent Katz, Haruka Kikuchi, trombone sensation from New Orleans, and the Cal Poly Jazz Orchestra. All twenty-five bands in will be featured throughout the weekend.  Pick your venue and let the bands come to you.

New this year: a FREE opportunity for students and adults to learn improvisation and solo performing taught by award winning Band Leader, Les Rose. Following the 2 hour class, Dick Williams will conduct a jam set so the students will be able to polish their new skills.

Venues are located in neighboring Pismo Beach and Arroyo Grande which are located along the California Central Coast halfway, between San Francisco and Los Angeles. These classic California towns are a perfect complement to each other: Pismo Beach with its famous pier and miles of beautiful beaches and Arroyo Grande with its historic Village and numerous wineries.  Both towns feature great hotels, restaurants and endless shopping opportunities!
