I feel confident that I can speak for my fellow food and wine loving friends when I say that we have never met a party that we didn’t like, however, when it comes to Food & Wine Festivals, we are much more particular. There are those that disappoint and those that deliver and Taste of Pismo has delivered every time. This year’s Taste of Pismo will be held at Pismo Beach’s Dinosaur Caves Park overlooking the beautiful Pacific Ocean. The first night of the festival will begin with the “Good Vibrations Fundraiser” to benefit Kinsley Wong, one of Pismo’s most renown kite boarders disabled from a tragic accident last year. There will be live music, delicious hors d’oeuvres, sliders, and a no-host bar carrying the best of the Central Coast wine and beer. The tickets for the April 15 Friday evening affair are $30.00 per person.
For serious food and wine lovers, Saturday is the day you won’t want to miss. The Taste of Pismo’s Premium Wine and Culinary Event is where the best of Central California’s Wineries will be there pouring and showcasing their beautiful and many award-winning wines. Thirty wineries are participating and some of our very favorite winemakers will be pouring, such as Curtis Winery, Ancient Peaks, Chamisal, Au Bon Climat, Morovino and one of California’s best sparkling wine producers, Laetitia. In addition to the great wines, you will get to experience fifteen of Pismo’s best restaurants including Cracked Crab, Lido Restaurant and the Sea Venture Resort Restaurant. The Premium Wine and Food Event will be held from 1pm - 5pm and tickets for the April 16 Saturday event are $50.00 per person.
And for those of you that have always wanted to be served by a Fireman, Sunday morning is your chance for your wish to be granted! The entire family can enjoy a hearty pancake breakfast hosted by the Pismo Beach Firefighters Association to benefit the 5 Cities Youth Baseball League. This event promises some fun activities for everyone and will be held from 9am to 1pm. Tickets for the April 17 Sunday event are $8.00 per adult or an $11.00 combination ticket for 1-adult-plus-1-child.
