Some of Pismo Beach’s upcoming events and attractions this season include:

Welcome the Monarchs

February 3, 2018: California Western Monarch Day plans are in place for a joyful celebration for California Western Monarch Day from 10:00am – 2:00pm at the Pismo State Beach Monarch Butterfly Grove. There will be butterfly talks and educational booths for adults, as well as art activities for children. The main attraction, however, is the thousands of Monarchs hanging in huge clusters from the eucalyptus and pine trees in the grove. The Pismo Beach Monarch Butterfly Grove is one of only five sites in the state that has counts of over 10,000. Each year thousands of vibrant orange and black Monarch Butterflies flock to Pismo Beach, seeking shelter from the freezing northern winters. From late October through February, the butterflies cluster in the limbs of a grove of eucalyptus trees at Pismo State Beach. The grove is easily accessible and is located on CA State Highway 1 at the south boundary of the city limits of Pismo Beach.
